Looking for a new tv.

Im looking for a new tv. I will use it mostly for watching television and playing fps through my xbox. I would like a screen around 50 inches. I dont know if a lcd/led would be better or a plasma. It doesnt have to have smarttv nor does it have to have 3d capabilities. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank You

Probably the main thing to think about is how bright your room is. Or if it will be dark when you watch it mainly. I have a Samsung PS50E550 plasma and a very bright room, though I very rarely watch TV in the day time. I knew that this would be a problem if I did watch in the day time before I bought it. I like the plasma for its warm but natural colours and its motion. The price is also great too compared to LED. A lot of it can be personal preference though too. Its best to go into a store and have a look for yourself. Just remember though, they are usually set up on vivid mode to make it look and bright and vibrant as possible, even though it looks ugly as hell and you will probably want to turn it way down when you get the TV home.
