I normally use a headset when gaming, surfing the net, watching streamed shows etc etc. I am looking for a new headset because the one I have gets uncomfortable after a while. Anyone here have any recommendations for a headset that stays comfortable (or at least doesn't hurt you) after LONG periods of use? (6 - 8 hours).

yeah truly comfortable headsets are few and far in between. they are out there though. audio technica makes some really comfy models - the ath-ad700 and ath-m50 come to mind.

the ad700 has some of the biggest earcups i've seen so far, and the m50 is just a good fit..hangs well on your head

these would both be good places to start. happy listening :)

How long have you had your headset?
In my experience, it doesn't matter how comfortable the set is, if you wear it for hours upon hours, you'll be sore wherever there's pressure.
Eventually, you might get used to it. I have a particularly heavy pair that made the top of my head sore after an hour or two. After a while i got used to them, and i can wear them much longer now (still uncomfortable if i wear them ALL day, though).

One thing you might try is just finding a pair that fits slightly differently, applying pressure to different areas, and then you can alternate pairs when it starts hurting too much.
