Solved! Looking for a simple upgrade

Hi,

My current set up is a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770s, a mod mic and an Asus Strix Soar soundcard. I have a budget of about £140 and want some sort of upgrade. Currently I'm thinking either a pair of open backs or replacing the sound card with an external dac/amp. I'm a gamer but have found the driver software with the soundcard pretty frustrating anyway. I'm also into a pretty wide range of music but have loved my 770s so far. What are your thoughts? Is it even worth it?

I really don't think for your budget you will get better sound. That sound card already is pretty good quality and has a headphone amp built in, and you said you like your headphones so no need to change that. If you had a $30 sound card and some low quality headphones, sure. With your equipment you are in the range of each upgrade costing more and more for less and less benefit.
