Hi, as I was soldiering on a new power plug to my asus g46vw(g46 owners know what I'm talking abou :)) I noticed is the keyboard can off, I happened to break a keyboard plug from this board below. Every keyboard I looked at on eBay had everything besides this part. And to make things worse my cousin ripped of my serial number, thus no rma-ing! So I just need a link or a suggestion of some sort!

http://

Thanks, Mason.

I've never purchased from them before so I can't say, but I did find this thread on them: http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/ep121-slate/51943-asusparts-eu.html

Apparently they are very slow to ship and deliver items. It's not ideal but unless you're willing to buy a full replacement or get a used for parts laptop, there's not really much else to choose from. You can try calling Asus to see if they supply the part, but otherwise you would be stuck just waiting and hoping for it to show up somewhere else for cheaper or faster shipping.

(Try using a USB keyboard to get into the bios, though it might not work)

Hi, bad luck there, I can only find that part in one place, and it's very expensive for such a small connector board: http://www.asusparts.eu/Asus-60-NMMCB1000-C01

Gulf Coast Computers (Never heard of it before) has it listed as well cheaper, but it's out of stock: http://www.gccswfl.com/product/60-nmmcb1000-c01/

Your other option would be to contact Asus directly and ask about how much that would cost to replace. My guess is it wouldn't be under warranty since it's obvious you opened the laptop and messed with it, but their repair might be a little cheaper. I kind of doubt it would be cheaper, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

P.S. you can usually find the serial number of the Asus laptops in the BIOS, check and see if you can recover it.

Sadly, because the board is broken I can't do turn on my PC to get into the bios!! Now, this asusparts.eu, are they a reputable sight?
And ya, because I didn't have the serial number, I replaced the thermal solution on the processor, that's the only thing that would void the warranty.
