Looking for cable to work on my new tv

So I bought a new tv can't seem to get the cable to work on it though from the cable line going through the wall. But works on my old tv no problem. What is the answer?

sounds to me like your old tv had a tuner built in and this new one does not. sounds like it is not able to use the cable signal and needs a box to do it for the tv.

what make/model tv is it and can look if you can't figure it out. but this sounds like the problem with such limited information.

Did you screw in the cable all the way? Coaxial cables sometimes can be a pain. Are you getting any sort of signal, such as static, or nothing?
