I'm looking into getting myself a new TV, somewhere around $400-500. I'm not to familiar with TV's and there quality. I would appreciated input on some good TV brands that come with smart hub and good quality picture for movies.

specs-
-50-55in
-smart hub
-good picture quality
-possibly a 4k if in the price range

Solution
google chromecast or roku, nothing else is worth mentioning atm, if you are outside north america, chromecast is the only option
lg and samsung are kings atm

sony is nowhere to be seen in most markets

i like more lg than samsung, but both are very good recently

to be honest, no, once you recomend a specific brand and model, surely something will happen, someone will come telling you to avoid it at all cost or if you buy it, suddenly that specific model shows a unknown problem, note 7 style

we can tell you in general what we like and what we would buy but tell you specific models that could or could not be avaialble in the part of the planet you live is too hard

one thin i wouldn't buy is a curved tv, if you hapen to have a windows near that tv, on the other side o the scree you will see a window, almost like a mirror

okay will do, any recommendations on streaming sticks if i decide to go without smart hub? I'm looking into 4k streaming stick since the TV im looking to buying will be 4k but without the smart hub.

It's more flexible to use an external device for streaming.
You could also use an Android TV box. That allows for wide range of apps including Kodi.
If your new TV supports HDR (more important than 4k) then get a device that supports it too.
