It could be that your space bar is not working correctly. Either sticking or not moving well. Was anything spilled on it or dropped on it? If it is physical damage of any sort, then you are going to have to look into either replacement of that specific key, or replacement of the keyboard.

If you see no physical damage to the keyboard, try uninstalling the keyboard driver, reboot the computer (yes without installing a new driver) and then when the device reboots it should install the correct driver. See if this resolves it.
