You know when lul sec posted
Oh, and I guess enjoy these too;
there's around 26,000 passwords
These guys probably sign into XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX with the same email/pass combo, so we suggest the following:
1) sign into their XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX accounts
2) find their family members
3) tell them all about how the victim (you!) signed up to porn sites
4) watch the hilarity
5) tell us about it on twitter!
6) ???????
7) PROFIT
Well I think I figured out step 6 ???????? and how it translates to 7) PROFIT
It's not just a funny southpark quote
6 - lots of major companies **** themsleves not wanting to be publically humiliated. Having previously cut back on security staff during the recession. They then go out and hire more security staff, more penetration testers and encrypt much more of their data using aes128/256.
[ note passwords might of been cracked.
almost all passwords under 8 characters (when over 8 usually all lowercase letters or numbers ) capable of brute force attack with gpu
http/www.tomshardware.com/reviews/password-recovery-gpu,2945.html
add a few madeup email/passwrod combos to cover your crack tracks ( ie add false ones with all ${! in them a few false ones with over 8 letters etc to hide the simplicity of what you did ).
Lulzsec said they had been sitting on the passwords for some time and they probably have password crackers even if they're script kiddies.
SO TO THE PROFIT - more security adminsrators and pennetration testers = more demand = higher wages.
Also increase in demand of AES128/256 accelerated chips ( NB intel nearly 4 times faster per core AMD about to include in bulldozer). New system needs people to help migrate to new servers = more employment for IT staff

$$$$$ PROFIT $$$$$$$$
it's certainly one way of creating jobs in the sector. what do you think?
