Mac Book Pro 2008 - Software Update

I have a mac book pro from 2008.
I was thinking about a software update but i`m scared to do that - would you risk to do such an update or would you just keep the "oldtimer" original

Should you update the software on a 10 y/o Mac? Yes, if you want to operate as securely as possible. What version of OSX are you currently running?

Those are advertising links based on keywords. Using an ad-blocker (like uBlock Origin) will reduce or stop that from happening.

Back to the topic, I would recommend updating your software to maintain as strong a security posture as possible. The age of your MBP will prevent you from using the most recent versions of OSX.
