Macbook Pro Upgrade (SSD & RAM)

Hi all,
Thanks in advance for your help. This is my first mac and laptop upgrade so a little unsure on some things. I am planning on upgrading the follow macbook, 2.66GHz MacBook Pro (MC373LL/A) which you can google for all the specs.

I am going to start by removing the optical drive and replacing it with a OWC data doubler and fitting a Samsung 840 EVO 1TB in it. As far as I know there should be no problems with that but let me know if there is.

Then I plan on replacing the 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 with Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz SDRAM. This is where I become a little unsure on if the new RAM is going to be compatible with it, I don't see why it wouldn't be since they are both DDR3 SDRAM, but I want to be certain.

Finally, I wondered if the screw driver set I have linked at the bottom of this thread along with everything else I intend on buying contains everything I need to complete this upgrade?

Please let me know if you notice anything wrong here.

Memory is soldered to the MotherBoard in Macbooks, you need expert equipment to undo and re-do the soldering and to be very cautious plus a new motherboard, a new CPU and GPU and re-buy the RAM, Normal components are hard to buy and even harder to impossible and expensive to not worth it if it's a macbook. You are better off buying a new one

The RAM does not appear to be soldered to the motherboard.
Also, what about removing the optical drive and replacing it with the SSD?

So is this all OK then? The body on the memory looks like it might get in the way, is this a problem? If so could someone recommend some lower profile memory but still DDR3, SDRAM, 8GB (2x4GB) and 1600MHz? Thanks.

It is lower profile so I doubt ill have problems with space.
Has very good reviews for using with macs compared to other products I have looked at.
I'm hoping there is everything I need in the tool set I linked in my original post.

I'm pretty sure that Corsiar RAM is compatible as well.
