malfunctioned string on my dell inspiron laptop and wont recognize charger so cant charge

I have a dell inspiron 15r 5520, the problem is it wont charge when connected to the charger and in the bios its not recognizing that I have a charger plugged in. I can't update the BIOS on Dell website because I need a charger connected 0_O . I ran the dell problem finder or whatever program it is on the website and it could not continue because it found a problem and it said malfunctioned string. Even on the dell repair software on my home screen, its saying malfunctioned string and I do not know what that even means.

HOW DO YOU FIX A MALFUNCTIONED STRING AND WHAT IS IT??

I really would like my computer up and working. I already bought new charger, new battery and even got the same laptop in order to try and fix the previous one and its just not working out....

It sounds like the DC jack connector or motherboard has gone defective. Is the laptop under warranty? Service tag?

I got that EXACT same machine, and I haven't had a single problem with it.
