Yesterday I started installing a program but cancelled half way when I realized it was malware.
So now when I open Chrome, the home page is changed to mail.ru (in settings it's open new tab) and while browsing, it opens random pages with obvious malware on them.
I scanned the PC with Avira and CCleaner with no results.
I tried both and both found and removed mail.ru, but it comes back after restart.
None of the programs could find what's causing those pop-ups to open. Just noticed it tires to open one each time I click on something but chrome blocks most of them.

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
# For example:
# 188.8.131.52 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 184.108.40.206 x.acme.com # x client host
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

Edit: Woke up this morning and all of Chrome history, cookies and cache was cleared... I didn't do it.
I am having an issue too with my chrome on the laptop. I whenever i click anywhere on the site it opens a new tab. And this happens around twice for each click until the third allows me to do what i want to. Any specific reason.
