may I use a recorder with my eos M3

oh hi right now I am shooting with my canon 5d and eos m3. my 5d is sharper than m3 (obviously). may I make my eos m3 better if I use an external recorder to shoot raw? someone said m3 has a clean HDMI out?

The optics make a difference also, but getting uncompressed files will make the quality better.
