Solved! Microphone connected to PC through microphone port but does not input sound

I have a Boya lavalier microphone with a 3.5mm trrs microphone jack. My pc has separate headphone and microphone ports, but when I plug the microphone in, it shows connected but no audio inputs.

The TRRS plug is the problem. You will need to use a mic headphone splitter.

That will have a TRS plug for the mic andwill be compatible with the PC mic input.
