Microphone low

Hey, I recently bought a new motherboard (gigabyte z77x-ud3h). Now to my problem, my microphone volume is very low. I need to have it on microphone boost +30db and 100 microphone volume. I have no idea what the problem is, if it is the Via VT2020 sound or not, because on my old motherboard which used realtek hd audio it worked fine. I could talk really slowly with only microphone boost +10 and everyone could hear me fine. And yes, I have checked all settings I know of. Help?

there is two microphone level controls,
one in the audio hardware / software ( Via motherboard drivers) and one in windows...however via is known to cause headaches...
there is an input level control as part of windows. But which operating system do you run? Then find out where it is...

Windows 7, I have it maxed on both Via drivers and in windows (with +30 microphone boost in windows).
