Hi,
I have a quick question about Microsoft Office. I have built a computer over the summer, but did not get Office as I did not have money. Now, I need it as my English teacher does not know how to use Google Drive and prefers Word. For now, I have been converting docs to word documents and using word viewer to see documents. My mom's laptop has word, but I am not allowed to work on it. However, I just wanted to know if I can copy the Office folder to an external hard drive, and then use the hard drive to copy it onto my computer. Will this work? Even a bigger question, is this legal? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but this idea just popped into my head and I wanted to know if it will work.

Solution
Legal? Probably not. Some purchases of Office DO allow for multiple installs. Check with Mom to see if that is the case.

Copy the Office folder? No. It needs to be a regular install.

Alternatives?
Student version of Office is generally quite cheap, sometimes free.
LibreOffice or OpenOffice can save directly in Word .doc format.
