Micrphone has LOADS of static suddenly! (HELP!)

Hi there,

So my friends started literally saying they have pain, from static in the skype call, after my game, I went to record a quick piece in audacity, and wow, its me! It's really loud and I you can barely hear my voice over the static. My mic is a Blue Snowball (Not the ICE version)!

Hope someone can help me ASAP!

you can do some testing to figure out where exactly the issue is coming from.

-does it occur on different ports? for example if using usb on the front try the rear or if using the 2.0 jacks try the 3.0 or vise versa.
-does it occur if you use it on a different pc? <---- most important test
-have you tried turning off or removing any devices which may generate EMI?
-are your microphone gain and volume settings normal?

is the device under warranty?
