The people who aren't seeing it, haven't gotten the new Carrier file from AT&T, there are reports that this update has been going out to some people. I was not one of the lucky ones and without the feature enabled, you won't see the MMS features on your phone at all. If you update the Carrier file manually, or get the update, and you can see the feature, successfully being able to send or receive MMS messages has been sporatic, I personally have had success, but not in every area I've tried it. Its hit or miss at home (East of DFW Texas) but had success in Plano/Richardson and Mesquite.

well im sorry to say, how is it possible that the market leading phone is or has been incapable to send a picture message, either as previously stated by a company who's foundations and fundamental ideas are built on inovation, and then when "Apple" provide the option it is thwarted by the oldest and dont quote me largest telecomunications company in the USA, to add, even my G1 with its android os which basically is like a new born baby can do this (ok its no iphone beater but as a comparison?) come on guys a market leader that says i cant do yet more than i can do now its not a good advert, quit the music abilty get some basic phone functionality just my 2p anyway.

We've had news of teens snapping shots of themselves in indecent positions in the UK news for years now (and it was obviously sent via MMS or Bluetooth), how far behind is the US?

My Nokia also has MMS. Though, I'm one step ahead and just send images via email, MSN or uploading it somewhere and sending the link. I'd even consider MMS getting out of date now.

Is anyone having issues receiving MMS the stupid old way? I have had lots of people try to send me pictures and I never receive the notifications that have been the embarrassment of the iPhone

make sure you do the last step. i didnt do it the first time, and it didnt work.
hope i helped!

This carrier file thing did not work for me. It shows up and it will start to send but when it gets to the end where it is actually going to send it through the network, it stalls for 2 minutes and fails. I live in the DFW area, so we may not be allotted as one of the test area's, but it still doesnt work. Though, I am excited just to see MMS on my iphone.

Oh, btw! I have an iphone 3gs running v.3.0. It states that it may not work on previous firmwares, but I am jb and I am very happy being jb so until they come out with the jb for 3.1, I will stay happy with 3.0! Plus, it looks like at&t is going to come out with the carrier file that is going to work with 3.0 and up so I have no need to upgrade at the moment..
