I kill in Unreal Tournament. I kill in Rainbow Six. I kill in Doom. I kill in any game I can get my hands on. I don't kill in the real world except maybe mosquitos. However......I work with juveniles with psychiatric disorders.....some of them don't have a firm grasp of game vs reality. Some of them have actually acted out what they played on Grand Theft Auto. As a gamer....I love to shoot em up! As someone who works with youth with psych problems..... I can see games turned to real world problems. My opinion on the level......well it depends on who buys the game.

that level is really easy. kind of pointless. i guess its suppose to show how "evil" that russian bro is.. i still lit them up though.

I was a little shocked by the level, and at the very start of it I wasn't sure what I was going to have to do. But let's keep it real, it's a video game and if you don't want any violence in a game, stick to board games or go for a bike ride. I am a little surprised the Germans censored it; not that surprised about the Japanese (have you seen their porno?)

Personally, I believe that this is all a load of shit.
1) It's a game.
2) It's a game.
3) It's a GAME.
4) Who gives a shit? Apparently Japanese and Germans.

Now, people may think that the whole 'violent video game' thing spurs people to kill. It really doesn't, and people just refuse to let go of old hypes, much as people today still don't realize that you don't download an attachment from any piece of junk mail, or believe that cellphones give you cancer. It's ridiculous, and it really needs to stop.

There's nothing noble about being a pacifist. A pacifist is a slacker that relies on others to do what they refuse to do for themselves. Banning or censoring a video game is senseless and pointless and purely symbolic. incompetent, petty, impotent governments eagerly anticipate the opportunity for such nonsense because that is all they are capable of.

I stood there thinking WTF......and then got the gist of the mission and walked along with them, really annoying...had to walk slowly for the whole mission.

[citation][nom]mman74[/nom]The thing to admire about both the Germans and the Japanese; is that they as a nation have fully accepted the lessons of their militaristic past. Both nations have a military purely for defensive reasons, and both are extremely wary of right-wing fascism. Their moral position is not a sign of hypocrisy but a genuine deep-rooted concern that the errors of the past should not be repeated again. These are now two of the most pacifistic nations on Earth.[/citation]
"right-wing fascism", as opposed to left-wing fascism...sigh...is that like right-wing communism. I love these socio-politicos on tech web-side. Fascism, like "Nazism" are forms of centralized government, hence LEFT-WING, hence socialist/communist. Please do stay on topic, or you end up sounding like a fool. And historically, pacifist societies have gone the way of the dodo bird.

So we can watch movies that kill and torture innocent people, but we can't play in one? That is dumb.

It is just a game. I don't see why this is an issue at all.

Thanks to Movies and Television we have upped the ante of heinous acts of violence and murder like this nation and the world has never seen. Who doesn't think killers get ideas from watching horror flicks? We all think of someone truly evil and how we would kill them and the thoughts that pass through our heads are mostly images in which we grasped from Hollywood, not a video game.

Not to mention there are countless movies and tv shows which practically TEACH you how to murder someone properly and avoid getting caught.

They seriously shouldn't allow kids with psychiatric problems to buy these games lol. Every1 else should be able to enjoy gameplay for what it is...play.

Sorry radiovan, but I had to register just so I could tell you how much the fool you are. Facism is very right-wing, not left-wing. Sorry man. It's almost as far-right as you can go. Nazism is considered to be a type of Facism. Thus, again, almost as far-right as you can go. They're both incredibly anti-socialist/anti-communist. You might want to stay on topic, or you end up sounding like a fool.

As for being on-topic, I tend to get 'in-character' when I'm playing any game, even if it's a FPS. It helps with immersion and makes the story worth it. What's the point of the story if you're not going to immerse yourself in it? I didn't shoot at even a single civilian during that mission because I didn't think the character would do so. I did my best to make it look as if I was helping, by firing in that general direction (at all sorts of non-living stuff), but made sure I didn't injure anyone in the process.

Okay... I could understand removing the level entirely - it is pretty violent. But removing the moral choice? If games are linked to real-world violence, how does this help stop that at all? The people who would be affected by this are still exposed to the same images.

Every soldier you kill is a human being, someone's son and husband. There's zero moral difference in killing a soldier and a civilian. That's a political difference.

Facism is very, very right wing my friend. Just a point of clarification. In fact the opposite of socialism or communism (which they are not the same thing) would probably be facism. If you're going to attack someone please research a little.

Now on topic, MW2 is GREAT!
