Mouse Left clicks or Highlights everything, constantly

HP Pavilion DV7 17.3 inch laptop
Windows 7

Ok strangest thing I have ever incountered and very fustrated!

I recently (xmas) purchased a HP Pavilion DV7 for my son.
When I used the mouse it constantly left clicked or highlights or drags everything.
So I switched to the mouse pad (thinking itwas the new mouse) but it still happens with the pad
So I got an other mouse and plugged it in and it still happens.
So I updated all the drivers and it still left clicks/drags/highlights everything.


Not sure what else to do here. HELP???

Still covered by warranty - - I would make use of it before it runs out. Any fix suggested might only be temporary, and all the while that warranty period is ticking away. Don't let them off the hook by trying to fix it yourself.

It's a used laptop I got off eBay. Doubt any warranty exists
