Hello all,

I have a Asus TUF Z370 Gaming motherboard and plan on adding a SATA/M.2 SSD into one of the M.2 sockets. The catch is, if I do that with this board, I can't use the SATA 1, 5, and 6 sockets, two of which are currently occupied by my default C: SSD, as well as the D: HDD.

My question is, can I just unplug the current SSD (which has all of my boot up information) and HDD, then move them to the other sockets that I can use (2, 3, and 4) without needing to reconfigure anything software wise?

Many thanks,
Chris

Yes sure you can, just make sure your PC is off while you do it. Even if it doesn't work which in theory it definitely should. The data will still be there and you can just swap back.
