MS Word 2013 Crashing

Uninstalled Office 2003, rebooted and installed Office 2013. Now unable to open older Word docs with 97-2003 in the description. Can open all new docs created within 2013. All other pc's in office can open all documents in Word 2013. Uninstalled and reinstalled MS Office and no change. Disabled all ad-ins and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Word crashes when I try to open the older docs. "Microsoft Word has stopped working..."

What are the file extensions of the old documents? Try right clicking on one of the old documents, go to properties, make note of the "Type of file:", and underneath that where it says "Opens with:" click change and navigate to the office directory (probably something like C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15\) and if it's an old word document select WINWORD.EXE, if it's excel select EXCEL.EXE, and so-on.
