I do not have any Office software on laptop #1. My desktop has the expired trial of Office 2013, so I'd like to purchase the multi-device Office 365 for both of these.
Do I uninstall Office 2013 on desktop before installing 365?

My other laptop #2 has a purchased Office 2013 installed. This computer is about ready to quit, so I saved all my Word documents as attachments in my emails as well as in files.

Using either laptop #1 or desktop, will I be able to to open those documents in the emails with Office 365? Can I convert them to 365 format so I can make changes?

If the standalone excel and word files is the subject for your question, then yes they should work likewise in either version of Office.

Its possibly to have 2 version of office on your PC but Microsoft suggests against the practice. The 2013 version documents should be compatible with 365 given its updated. If you need to read those at any time on office 2013 tho I suggest you save the files in word 2013 mode.
