Multiple HDMI ports?

Our Hitachi 42" only has 2 hdmi ports. One connects to Virgin Media cable and the other is connected to a sound bar. We have bought an Amazon Firestick which also requires an hdmi port....obviously we'd like the sound bar connected all the time and the Firestick as and when needed without having to unplug either from the back of the TV, will a switch or splitter do the job? Thanks.

It seems like they're all used up? But I have been advised by several just to get a splitter, so I've just ordered one, will have to wait and see now

You need an HDMI input selector not a splitter.
