I have a Klipsch sound bar connected using the optical cable and a pair of Klipsch Pro-media 2.1 computer speakers connected using the standard 3.5mm audio jack. I want to use them both at the same time (for surround sound) but nothing I've tried so far is working. They work fine independently, but none of the tricks I've read about are working. Is there a way make the computer have two default devices [Speakers and Digital Output(Optical)], or will using a cable like this work? { https://www.amazon.com/Mediabridge-3-5mm-Male-2-Male-Adapter/dp/B004YEBK66/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 } The soundbar does have rca outputs. My motherboard is an Asus Crosshair V Formula Z.

Unless the speakers can run off the soundbar I'd say no, I don't think PC manufacturers really expect you to use the sound that way.

Also to nit pick those would be different outputs you want to use in the thread title, sound is coming out of the PC not going in.
