So I have these headphones from an old Sony Ericsson mobile phone, even though they work fine on my new smartphone(it's a ZTE) when I plug them in my pc's front panel the sound of the music is blurry and distorted,my drivers are ALL updated I make sure of that almost every week in order to keep my pc up-to-date.

Note that,2 months ago there were absolutely no problems with the sound when I would plug them in my PC,so I don't really know whats going on guys :( .

Thank you :)

my thoughts on a front panel not working right would be

A) some kind of loose connection on the jack or broken wires (fixable by using a new front panel device or wires)
B) failed component on the internal soundcard (requiring new soundcard)

i suppose it could certainly be some software glitch or effect too but i'm thinking A or B are worth looking at first.
are you A/B comparing your pc to the phone? while different devices may sound similar if one sounds noticeably worse than the other its worth investigating.

you say that it used to sound fine. this could indicate either hardware issue of some sort or software issue.

check the rear panel. do your headphones sound the same as the front panel?

make sure you dont have any effects turned on in your audio drivers like echo, virtual surround sound, etc.

I tried using the rear panel like you said and, yes,it sounds like it used to from the rear panel, the audio is very clear and has bass, while from the front panel it's still the same.

Oh,also it doesn't crash at all I was listening to music for very long when I tried plugin my headphones to the rear panel but what about the front panel now? :??:
