i used to be into the music scene using a keyboard and cubase back when it was at 2 or 3rd release but that was 20 years ago. i recently got a new keyboard and a nice computer. im confused about the new daw's. cubase is nothing like i used to use so i was looking for production software for a beginner. i was thinking FL studio.

what do you guys use? reccomend?

FL Studio is a great place to start, especially because you can tiptoe in with the trial/demo. There's a well developed community too, so plenty of support. Like any DAW, it has quite a learning curve.....and the piecemeal plugins can get spendy.

Something like Reaper may be worth a look as well.

I too was in back in the day, and slowly getting back into it. I like Studio One. It depends on what kind of music you want to make. Fruity Loops is more loop based, dance music/hip hop/dub kind of production tool, where Studio one is great for recording and also VSTi', etc.
