My acer laptop wont play certain cds

My Acer Aspire 5732Z laptop won't play some cd's although they play on my daughters Acer laptop. I have tried putting them into my intunes but they just won't work. This is not only old cd's but new ones just purchased. Anyone got any ideas please.

The cd, is it just not playing in media player or is it not recognized (no disk in drive)?
