My Audio cannot be heard from my PC

I am a first time builder who recently built an APU work PC, however when i browse on YouTube, or do anything where sound should be, it isn't there. I put my volume on full and nothing is muted. I also downloaded the Realtek audio drivers
The Specs are:
AMD A8-7670K
Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-HD2
8GB 2400mhz RAM
500W PSU
1 TB HDD
case: CiT Vanquish

Does this motherboard come with sound or do i need to buy speakers? The jacks to put headphones in on the top of the case do not seem to work either, and im not sure if the front panel audio header fits in with my hd audio pins

Are you plugging your speakers/headphones directly to the motherboard's I/O plate or are you plugging your speakers/headphones to a USB slot or to a jack on your case? If you are using a jack on your computer case, did you connect the audio I/O of your motherboard to the case?

I do not own a pair of speakers, however I only plugged the headphones into the jacks on the case. My case came with a hd audio cable and i plugged it straight into one of the front panel audio sockets, (the one corresponding to my pins). When i plug my headphones to the I/O it works
