My center speaker works with the DVD playing but not with regular TV

If you have the TV connected with digital audio (optical, coax or ARC) you can try changing the TV audio output to bitstream 5.1.
If you have the TV connected with analog stereo audio try changing the surround mode when you use regular TV.
