My games are using integrated graphics card instead of my nvidia 920m

My games started running at extremely low fps (10-20) when i used to have stable 60fps games. The nvidia graphics card seems to overheat and turn itself off, because the fps drop happens on the same session. It used to fix itself after i shut it down for the night, but now it doesnt seem to switch back. I have also tried to reset BIOS settings.

If the GPU was overheating, and you didn't fix the problem, you may well have fried it.

If its fried can it still show up in the device manager?

Also, it fixed itself a couple of days ago and stopped working again, so i think that its still alive

Well that is a good sign, but not if it isn't staying working all the time. Have you monitored the temps?

I have not, but today it wasnt working in the morning when it was cool.
There is also no ventilation sounds coming from the computer, when i used to play games it used to get pretty loud but now its quiet

Which would mean either the fan isn't working at all, or it isn't needing to run because the overheating isn't happening at the moment. Which brings me back to the GPU.

It was working today and literally just happened mid game, my pc was really hot and loud but when the fps dropped the fan got silent.
Im almost sure now that it turns itself off because its overheating, im just looking for a way to start it again when the pc is cool, because sometimes it stays off for days.

The more you use it, without having it looked at and repaired, the more likely you will fry even more. Like say the motherboard.
