My gmail account doesn't have the dropdown menu feature. How else can I block unwanted emails?

Where exactly are you looking for this "dropdown menu" and what option are you looking for there? There are several dropdown menus in the Gmail site.

Gmail already has a spam folder and checks your email for that automatically.

when you open the email there is an arrow pointing down on the right select spam or block sender or lots of other options

Thanks for your responses but I don't see the spam option or have the arrow on the right side of my email as has been suggested. As a result I'm constantly deleting massive amounts of unwanted emails. I just want to be able to highlight the unwanted email, click on "spam" and not receive email from that sender again. Thanks, anyway for your responses.
