My laptop doesnt have a VGA port. Can i still use dual monitors?

I just bought a monitor off of a friend and i was hoping to set up dual monitors with the laptop i am using at the moment, but i then ran into the issue of, my laptop does not have a VGA port. Can i simply buy a converter/ adapter like a VGA female to USB or HDMI male?

No. This is not possible because USB carries computer data signals whereas VGA carries an analogue signal, and these are interdependent of each other. Sorry.

aCotter, what is the make & model# of your laptop to see what video ports you have?

I just bought a DVI to HDMI and am currently typing on the second monitor. Thanks anyway.

I'm using that same adapter till I switch the cable to hdmi from dvi which I have.
