My laptop is suddenly slow with everything now

A few days ago, my browser started running very slowly, so i assumed it was a virus, which it was when I installed AVG, which then removed all malware. My laptop was fine until a couple of days ago when not only the browser but the entire OS slowed down (takes 3 seconds to open the right click menu on desktop with no background programs). Ive done several virus scans, updates, restarts, cleans etc, but i cant find the issue.

my laptop is an Acer Aspire 5750 so you can see the specs.

press ctrl + alt + del keys and look for a process thats using all the cpu resources

Any significant error messages in event viewer, like i/o errors on the disk or something like that?

U should remove AVG and see. If it's not the reason then maybe some trojan which are undetected by AVG. Try bitdefender, or Kaspersky
