My LG smart tv stopped working with remotes

This morning I woke up and my LG smart tv (new, 2018) stopped responding to any remote. My LG remote and the remote for my cable system are non-responsive.
Occasionally the LG remote will turn my tv on, but that’s it. It won’t turn it back off or do anything once it’s on from either remote.
No idea what would cause this.

The fact that neither remote works eliminates the remote as the problem
Try unplugging the TV from the AC outlet for 5-10 minutes and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work then I think you will have to get the TV replaced, if it's brand new, or serviced under warranty.
