My microphone is to low

i have had this problem for a while that my microphone is not giving high enoug volume, i turned up the sensitivity and i dont think its the problem
ppl cant hear me properly on ts, vt, and starcraft 2 so i guess the problem is in windows.
i bought a new audio card asus xonar D2X, and im frustrated that i cant use it properly due to the low microphone volume problem.
