My microphone quality degrades as the sound in my headset gets louder

I just bought the SteelSeries Siberia V2 Frost and when I'm playing games and talking on Skype, when the in-game sound gets louder people complain that my voice becomes slurred and distorted. Has anyone experienced this before?

I figured out if I uninstall the drivers the headset works just fine, does anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it?
