Solved! My notebook wont run operating system

Hello, When I start my Acer Aspire One Notebook it starts the Windows XP start up then goes to a scan disk page then to a how do I want to try start up? safe, normal or last known. No matter what I pick it just goes back to the scan disk prompt and the whole process just repeats itself. Any ideas?

It sounds like there is an issue with the hard drive. Have you let the scan disk run all the way through?
