my replay has developed a lockup problem

over the last week or so all of a sudden it will lock up when i try to
delete a show.

things seem to work normally, change channels, select saved programs, fast
forward, stop, etc. but as soon as i try to 'delete' a recorded program
we've watched bang.

we've had the unit for over a year now so i know how the remote works, the
menus, etc. i select the show to delete, scroll up/down to the delete
choice, hit the select, thats the end of using the remote. the only button
that works is on/off. the first time i finally pulled the plug in
frustration. after waiting many minutes thru the reboot, the system 'seems'
to be there, the screen says i can select the menu, channel guide, whatever,
so you push a button to select one. nope, not there. wait some more, it
then finally flashes thru whatever keystrokes you gave it after the reboot
and the remote is back in real-time.

use it to watch a show, tape a show, whatever. go to delete....oops gone
again.

the power off & wait works again.

anyone know of this symptom and what to do about it?

btw, i checked the batteries and they were ok, i replaced them with new
tested batteries anyway. made no difference.

help!!

Like the guy with the SS Combo, you may have developed some poo-poo on your
hard drive. Since reboots don't really fix it, a re-image very well might.

PS. Poo-poo is a special scientific term specific to the ReplayTV.
