My sound on my ASUS X555U is too quiet with headphones.

Not much more to say than the title. I've updated my drivers, turned up all the sound options within the sound manager and nothing is making it better. Any tips?

I know the headphones are fine, the sound is perfectly loud and proper using my cellphone.

What is the impedance on your headphones? If it's higher than the usual 32 ohm that most are, you may need an amplifier.

They're 40 ohm(1kHz), do I need an amplifier?

You shouldn't need one, no. It more sounds like a potential software problem; I'm not sure what else it might be.
