my toshiba laptop cant type many letter, for ex u,i,p,t. everytime i type it will show nothing but 'beep' sound. how can i fix this ? thanks

I had an issue similar to this a while back (can't remember about the beep sound - but certain key presses wouldn't display).

I removed the keyboard - cleaned up the contacts on the ribbon cable where it attaches to the motherboard - re-installed keyboard and all was good.
I guess prior to doing this you could try a usb keyboard and see how it behaves.
