Need a new headset once again!

I bought a G35 only to have to keep sending it to logitech for repairs constantly. I am in no way an audiophile and I like the way the mic and headphones sound. What headsets are similar that have a microphone? I like the way that the headset is USB powered so it seems a sort of louder. I was looking at the HyperX Cloud but I cannot afford to f**k up a headset purchase again. What do you guys think? It is important to note that I do not have a sound card other than the one that is on my motherboard (ASRock Z87 Extreme4).

I'd just get a pair of ATH-M30's and tack on modmic. Way better than the G35's.

ATH M30s or ATH M30x? Do I need an amp for the headphones? Will my motherboard properly power it?

The M30x's, no reason to get the older model anymore.

You don't need an amp. You could use one if you want, but it's not needed.

Is there a list of headphones the modmic is compatible with?

It should work with any headphones you can stick the base clasp onto. You install the base clasp (it uses adhesive) and attach the mic to it, so any flat surface should work.
