Hi, just recently my laptop has died (RIP.) I'm a student that also does some light gaming, which would be heavier if I could afford so...
I've been doing some searching and came across two laptops and I'm finding it difficult to see which would be better (performance wise) for gaming, yes I know these aren't exactly gaming laptops, but I want something to at least run light programs such as Minecraft and Garry's Mod but if capable pushing it for ARMA 3.
Anyways, here they are:
HP 250 G5 "£469.97"
-Intel Core i7-6500U Dual Core (2.5GHz, 4MB Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Up To 3.1GHz)
-8GB (DDR4 2133MHz)
-Integrated (Intel HD Graphics) - the biggest letdown
-256GB SSD

ASUS X555DG-XO100T "£424.97"
-AMD A10-8700P Quad-Core (1.8GHz, 2MB Cache, AMD Turbo Up To 3.2GHz)
-8GB (DDR3 1600MHZ)
-1000GB HDD
-Dedicated (AMD Radeon R5 M330 with 2GB RAM) - big deal

So the HP has an SSD, DDR4 RAM and higher standard clock speed (even though it's dual core it got a higher rating on passmark,) whereas the ASUS only has DDR3 and an HDD but has a dedicated GPU which is the main reason why budget laptop gaming is so tremendously poo... I just can't compare these stats in my head, so if anyone is a tech wizard I'd be much appreciated!
Can I trust this 'saveonlaptops' site? It sounds sketchy but has the best prices I can find. Also, I know dedi-GPUs need big heat control, will the ASUS melt my legs off when I do standard work?
Thanks anyways, replies will be much much appreciated!
Edit: Current laptop is pretty bad anyways, 4gb ddr3, 500gb hdd & a dual core i5 at around 2ghz, integrated graphics. I don't know how it runs a lot of the games I try to run but it does it somehow, or did.
