I have a Lenovo Ideapad z580. Which is a complicated piece of hardware for me to disassemble I bought thermal paste recently to prevent the video chip from downclocking due to heat from gaming sessions (GeForce GT 630m 1GB) and I saw a video where I have to remove the ENTIRE motherboard to be able to access the chips. I was already in the part of removing my disk drive, but when I saw the other things I had to remove, I stopped. I can disassemble it, yes. But I don't know how I can reassemble it if I do so. So should I continue with this or ask for help from a Lenovo Technician? (Which, there is one just a few miles away from me).
Also, the stock thermal paste has been in this laptop for about 3 years now. (From 2012) and I'm only aiming for the video card.. so should I also replace the processor one as well while I'm at it? and which technique of applying it should I use?
