I need help to find the cheapest amp possible for a non powered sub (omnitronic BX-1250) and a pair of bookshelf speakers from a mini hifi system (Sony mhcec619ip)

Link of the mini hifi system: http://www.sony.com/electronics/hi-fi-systems/mhc-ec619ip-719ip

I will be buying from the uk and also the subwoofer can be changed to any else as long to be cheap and passive

So please help me since im new with speakers

thanks

That is a PA/DJ sub that won't be a great match with a mini system like yours. Meant for larger rooms and won't sound great at the relatively low volumes to fill a normal room. You should have some powered sub choices around a 100 quid that will be better.

Either way you need the powered sub or subwoofer amp have speaker level input and output since you probably don't have a subwoofer output on that mini system. You will still be powering the bookshelf speakers from the mini system. The sub doesn't use any of that power. It taps into the signal, removes the higher frequencies and amplifies that for the subwoofer. Some will remove the bass from the bookshelf speakers allowing them to play louder and cleaner since they not longer are stressed by trying to reproduce bass.
Something like this would work.

The sub spec says it can handle 300 watts but it won't need that much power in your application since the mini system can't play remotely loud enough to keep up with the sub anyway.
