Need free advice on my acer laptop powers up then goes blank

my laptop powers up pass the windows password screen then goes blank,nothing happens if i press keys on the key borad,but the arrow for the mouse i can move,can anyone tell me whats wrong please

Try attaching an external monitor to it and updating the graphics driver from acer's support site.
