Need Help Buying Laptop within 1000

Hello Tom's Hardware experts
I've been bestowed the task of buying a laptop within the 1000 dollar range, uses would be for e-mail, multitasking, work.

I would prefer one with a 16+ screen size.

The manufacturers I've heard were reliable and that I seem interested in would be, Asus>Toshiba>Sony>Apple.

If at all possible i would like this laptop to be somewhat future-proof, but as it is a laptop i don't think you really can.

I prefer Intel i5 or i7 with a clock of 2+ not really sure whats good on laptops.

No less than 4gb ram

5. How much battery life do you need?

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?
