I am trying to decide between 2 computers

a) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834232357

b) http://www.amazon.com/F555UA-EH71-Intel-Laptop-Windows-64bit/dp/B014LE6A6I/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

I am looking for a computer to handle moderate gaming, and lots of multitasking without lag or latency, while not sacrificing too much portability. I understand that "a" is speced better, but my question is about the processors. The processor in "a" is a quad core, 4th gen i7, while the processor in "b" is a dual core 6th gen i7. My question is, despite being faster, will the 4th gen processor remain relevant into the foreseeable future, or would I be better off going with the dual core, simply because it is newer.

Solution
ASUS N551JQ-EH71 (choice a) is better for games. It has a more powerful CPU and a dedicated GPU (845m). There is not much of a performance difference between 4th and 6th generation Intel CPU so even if it only had a 4th generation dual core CPU laptop A would still be the better choice for games.
