Tomorrow I will be buying a gaming laptop. These are the ones that are on sale right now.
ASUS ROG JM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834231630&ignorebbr=1
MSI GE70:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152558&ignorebbr=1
MSI GT70 DOMINATOR: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152554&ignorebbr=1

I do not want a sager from xoticpc gaming. It is nice to own one, but I cannot pay extra money for an OS system that they do not install.

What do you want out of the gaming laptop: I want to play high demanding games on high/ultra settings, at least around 30 fps.

Are you using it for school? Yes I will be using this for college work. Such as typing an essay, taking notes, and also doing engineering designs on my laptop.

Will weight be an issue for carrying around in campus? No

How long do you want the laptop to last? I want my gaming laptop to last at least 3 years.

Thank you for your guys time reading through this. :D
Oh and is air cooling really important?

Solution
going by the specs - GT70 ,

it is a i7 4800mq and a GTX870 at the same price as a gtx 860 and 4700....

the only con ( i would say an advantage) is that it has 8gb of ram , which can be paired with another 8gb stick down the line instead of selling the uneven 12gbs 4gb and getting another 8 down the line (games nowadays rarely use more than 6gb)

RESULT - MSI GT 70 (better specs ...)

hope it helps!!

PS- you can opt for the gigabyte P25xv2-sp1 if it is available for a discount(original prce - 1500$) , 8gb 880m with a 4800mq it is really good for

AUTOCAD / any ithe 3d programs you use/ programming

How about the cooling? See I don't want the MSI to like go on full blast and still not be able to cool the gpu and cpu since they are paired close together in one copper heatsink. Unlike the ASUS has 2 separate heatsinks for the gpu and cpu.

true , but still the cooling is decent enough

even with asus ROG the cooling is not as good as some others like the y50 of lenovo.

the temps usually dont reach more than 70C (ambient at 35) with an hour/2 gaming .

anyway regardless of the laptop if you plan on exended hours of gaming (which you mostly wont , because belive me you wont event get time to sleep during engineering courses) get a cooling pad

and anyway the case is large enough for proper ventilation and mostly keep it on a flat desk while gaming inorder not to burn your lap

hope this helps!!
