Solved! Need help figuring how to connect new roku tv to old pioneer stereo.

My hubby and I just purchased new TCL 65 tv, my hubby has an old Pioneer receiver which has no HDMI nor optical wire type connection input. Hubby has tried every type of wire,connection sequence and he gets no sound. Have no idea what to try next.

If the TV has a headphone jack try that.
Otherwise get an optical to analog converter. Check the TV manual on how to turn on the optical out. You may have to turn the TV speakers off and change the output to PCM stereo.
